The philosophy originated in the weight room of Wisconsin Lutheran College. Being a private school division III program, we did not have all of the bells and whistles one would associate with a college sports program. We actually only had dumbbells up to 100lbs until my senior year. Around the end of my sophomore year, my lifting partner and I would be easily benching, squatting, cleaning, and rowing the 100lbs. We always said that we need more weight and would often scream it after a set. Eventually this turned into saying more of everything, more sit-ups, more miles, more sprints, more energy, and thus More Weight was not just two words anymore, but a philosophy.
More Weight does not only apply to being able to lift more weight, but being able to do more than what one's mind limits them to. Being able to run that extra mile, not skipping the last rep of a set, telling yourself you can lose that weight, put on that muscle, and do that exercise that scares you. Following this philosophy will help one not only get more out of their workout routine, but more out of life.
